2001 Bounder, No rear AC fan on Generator, works on Shore

Just as the title says. I was working on something in our Bounder this weekend and I fired the genny up to run the AC while I was working inside. On generator power the front AC works along with the fan, the rear will come off of shed but the fan does not run. With the front off the rear ac fan does not work on generator power. On shore power both work fine. Generator seems to be running ok. Have not checked the output but I would assume that would have nothing to do with it. I checked the Energy management unit and fliped it to test the front and the front fired up, the rear however did nothing when I tested it. Ideas? Is there a separate fuse? Last trip out I cleaned the filters in the intakes, could I have bumped a wire? Is the fan on 12v? Why would it work on Shore? Does the switch that toggles the Elec Hot Water heater / Microwave have anything to do with this? PS Onan 5500 Marq.

There should be two breakers on the generator, a 30 and a 20. One could have tripped.

I will check for the 30 amp, I saw the 20 amp and I think that was fine but will look again. Is the 30 amp somewhere else, or hidden?

Do you have an Intellitec Automatic Energy Select Switch, Part Number: 00-00714-000. This switches the rear ac from the shore power to generator power.

No idea, where would said black box reside? I have a master controller, would this be in addition to?

If you have a 30 amp coach and an energy management system, you will have two transfer switches. Mine was located near the breaker panel. The main transfer switch is on the breaker panel and the other is a black box about 6"x6". I had both my transfer switches fail at different times when the Coach was 3 years old.

So why would my Rear AC fan work on Shore power but not on Generator?

First things first. You don't really have an EMS (Energy Management System), what you have is an ECC (Electronic Climate Control system)

Fleetwood wires those systems so that both a/c units run through the main breaker panel when on shore power. When the generator is started, the 30amp breaker is fed to the main panel, but the 20amp breaker is fed to the second small transfer switch (located near the main panel and ECC controller) which removes the rear a/c from the main panel and attaches it to the output of the generator 20amp breaker.

(DISCLAIMER - usually it's the front a/c unit that gets switched, but it sounds (from your symptoms) that they are switching the rear unit.)

The output breakers on your generator will be on the right hand end of the generator behind the operators panel. you may have to feel for them if you can't see them. Reset them both.

Let us know if further help is needed.

Well, thanks for all of your assistance and input. I went home and opened the panel behind the breakers and the energy panel, shifted a few wires around that were bunched up. Checked the plugs and wires on the controller. Flipped the breakers on the generator off and on a few times, fired the generator up and everything worked fine. I guess something was loose or tripped but whatever I did worked. Thanks!
