2004 Fleetwood Discovery Headlights
Hello friends:
The headlights in my 2004 Fleetwood Discovery are horrible and bordering on unsafe. Does anyone know what headlight assembly will fit my 2004 Fleetwood Discovery? Someone mentioned that the headlight assembly of a Jeep Grand Cherokee is identical to what Fleetwood installed in the Discovery. Is this true and if so, what year Jeep Cherokee headlight assembly will work? We are planning a 3000 mile trip and would like to drive our motor home at night; ..... with good headlights. Answers and/or suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Google says '99 - '04 Ford Super Duty / Excursion headlights.
Lots more to the story though. This thread ought to help.

It is my understanding that Fleetwood uses existing auto brand assemblies, if so; why do the cost almost triple than the Ford brand assemblies?

Take a look at the headlight lens and you should find a number. Google that number and it will tell you what vehicles that headlight will fit. For example my 2006 Discovery headlight has TYC 20-6439 which is for a Ford F series and Explorer. The Right Front Turn signal housing is a TYC 12-5067-91 for a 01-05 FORD EXCURSION / 02-04 F250 350 CORNER TURN SIGNAL PARK LAMP LIGHT RH
This gives you a great start to finding a replacement. Check online, I have seen some outstanding upgrades to the standard headlight assemblies. Several people on this forum have posted pictures of their new lights.
Good luck and make sure you post back as to what you found.

You say "horrible bordering on unsafe".
Are you referring to the headlights ability to do it's job as in a bad design
or
are you referring to the headlight has yellowed, fogged, crazed with age and light can't get out if?
If it is the later have you tried Flitz on it? I deal with a lot of 15+ year old vehicles and I haven't had a single light housing that didn't come up looking and working like new after I Flitz polished it. (and sealed it with a UV stable acrylic clear coat)
My 2004 Revolution had 'white' headlights ....now they look and work like new.

Check your voltages at the light with the lights on. These older coaches are known for low voltage due to inadequate wiring.
When I had the same problem on our 2002 I replaced the housings with factory original housings (not the cheap OEM you see everywhere. Then I upgraded the wiring harness and added relays and upgraded to a higher output light.
Daniel Stern helped me with all the part numbers and some parts.

Just for FYI. The 05 series expedition uses 94-99 BMW E36 lights.
Seems this issue with HID bulbs is mainly due to putting those bulbs in reflector assemblies.
Considering trying the projector assy and going with HID bulbs.
Anyone got opinions on this wether it improved lighting
Thanks

Although my coach is a 2011 Discovery, I looked up the numbers on the existing headlights and found they are Jeep Grand Cherokee Headlight assemblies. I located updated replacements for about $125 a pair at https://www.ebay.com/itm/19214973430...m=192149734307.
VIPmotoz appears to have many replacement headlight assemblies so you find what you are looking for there. My replacements have the low beam projector lens so I could switch over to LED lights from M4 for about $70 Automotive and Headlamps - Headlamps - M4 Products.
Now instead of lackluster headlights I have stunning new headlights that are clear and quite bright. I jokingly tell folks that they set the weeds on fire as we drive along.
By the way, if you decide to upgrade to LED bulbs you'll need projector lenses, not reflector lenses in the headlight assembly as the reflector lenses spray the light much to wide, can blind oncoming traffic, and are illegal in some states. The reflector lenses can accurately be aimed with LED bulbs.
