Captain Morgan..
Do you have a auto transfer switch or do you plug and unplug from a gen set recpt....if the latter then why not just use a 50 cord converter and go for it...if the former then that might be another story altogether...and would envolve a lot...which I believe has already been suggested here...
It probably wouldn't be too kosher... but it might be a thought...to use a heavy shore power cord...and wire it to a 50amp plug...except..TO WIRE IT AS THE 50/30 AMP CONVERTER CORD DOES...SO IT ONLY GETS 120 VOLTS...NOT 240...then check the whole chain...for a weak link so to speak...especially up to the transfer switch...now you'll need a HOMEMADE CONVERTER CORD..so that you can connect your 50 plug into a 30 amp campground outlet..be careful also...on wiring that one...so after that, you should be good to go....
One thing more you might have to contend with...
If you have a max. 30 amp energy management system..you'll need to bypass the current sensor transformer...so it won't trip above 30 amps....good luck and I would advise you to cheak this out a little further...because it was just a quick thought...
