2005 Fleetwood Bounder 35E entry door

I'm new to this forum stuff so hopefully I'm doing this right.

We recently bought a "new to us" 2005 fleetwood bounder 35E and live in it full time in the Portland Oregon area. Our entry door has decided it doesn't want to work. It either sticks so you need Armstrong power or your husband whenever you want to leave. Sometimes even that doesn't work. We have had the weather strip replaced at camping world before all of the "being locked out" started. Do we need just a new lock or the entire door?

Need more info. You should start by figuring out where it's grabbing. Often hinges wear and must be adjusted/shimmed. Same thing with the latch and latch catch..

If it's an Attwood entry door then it's working properly! LOL

Actually, I think Attwood doors are the worst. If the wind is blowing strong that door can slip out of your hand and it will swing all the war around and hit your rearview mirror! I have already replaced the part that keeps it from opening too much but is popped again!
Will also put a real nice bend/hump on the outside!
Sounds like your current issue "could" be on the latch end.

Last year while traveling through AR we had the same problem. 10pm on a Sunday night in a Walmart parking lot with our dogs inside!! Luckily someone left the window unlocked above the sink, but anyway... I'm hoping that one of you is ok with taking off the screen, and door panel?! In my case the outside handle, which basically controls the latch inside as well wouldn't engage no matter what we did. Wish I took pictures. The outside handle has a small finger that engages the handle thereby forcing the actual striker to move and open the door. I was surprised it ever worked at all. I found metal shavings in the base of the latch. Basically when opening the handle the small "finger" was missing the latch. I carefully bent the finger up so it would engage the latch. It's been working fine since. I'm wondering if you are experiencing the opposite of my issue where it's simply hitting the latch or sticks. Long suggestion but if you or someone is mechanically inclined it really wasn't that hard to remove it all and fix it.

On our 2016 it was the screen door latch that was sticking, and so latched to the door, caused the whole thing to stick. There is a screw that depresses the screen door latch when the two doors are coupled together. It needed to be adjusted outward, many now it all works as it is supposed to.

Just fixed mine this week, The screen door latch was bent and had to replace the whole thing and it works fine now. It was getting so bad i wasn't sure we would get it open a couple of times.
