How does the generator SLIDE out of the front. I cant get it to open.

Also my power mirrors and windows dont work. I have discovered that it is a fuse but when I replace it blows. Any suggestions?

Do not know if they are the same, but on my Eagle the rocker switch and hydraulic pump for the generator slide are located in the compartment directly below the driver.

Don't know why your fuses would be blowing...maybe someone else will chime in.

On my '04 Tradition the front end is manual rather than power-operated as it is on the Eagles. It's one of the model differences. On mine, there is a little latch below the front cap, right in the center. I pull a safety interlock trigger on the latch and drop it down. Then pull hard on the front cap assembly and tug it out. Ain't easy when level and nigh impossible if uphill. Works great on a downhill, though. I had the latch come loose once and watched the front end open up as I braked for a Stop sign! Provided a lot of amusement for the other drivers!

Our Allegiance worked the same as Gary's Tradition. Some times that safety lock can get bent and it will take some pliers to get it to open up. On one occasion, I forgot to lock the safety lock and the generator proceeded to slide out as we came to a stop. Fortunately we were far enough back so that it did not hit the car in front of us.

Thanks Gary. That is exactly how it worked. Using your advice I parked on a slight decline. Using your advice I will be able to successfully change the generator oil and antifreeze. This board is great.

Ours doesn't slide out at all and looks to be difficult for doing some things, like removing the top cover and what's probably needed for changing a sensor, that seems to be causing a minor problem.
Don't know if there are any cons to having a genset that slides out, but sure sounds like it would be great to have.
Evidently the hydraulics that power the passenger floor is what also powers this slide out in many models.
