2006 Providence Starter

A friend pulled the starter from the CAT 350. He forgot how the wires go back on the unit. One black/negative wire is too short to put on the starter and I'm sure I cannot put it on the solenoid (positive side). Is it possible the short wire attaches to the top mounting bolt as I think it is the ground to the frame? If anyone has pictures, I would be very grateful. I have looked at the wiring diagrams but they are not helping me.

Thank you,

Terry

Look for a threaded hole near the starter mount bolts for an aux. starter ground connection could be he took a bolt out that held the ground cable there and dropped or lost it. About an inch long 5/8" wrench size?
I'll be taking other pictures on my coach later and see if the ground is dry enough to get underneath.

I don't recall that on the starter, only two posts (one on the starter and one on the solenoid). I've been under the coach most of the day.

If the starter is an exchange unit could be that the ground stud ( that I though was a bolt ) in the starter drive end frame ,went with the old starter in the core box.
This is a Denso starter , on my coach , I guess I should have asked if that was your brand first.
First Picture shows positive cable with red wrap, attached to the solenoid and the ground cable attached to the ground stud. I went under without my glasses so pictures are less than ideal.
Second picture is an end on shot of the solenoid cover and wiring , showing that my clean up after last years oil leak in incomplete.

Thanks all. I attached the offending negative cable to the top mounting bolt and that was it. The dash lit up as it should. On to the next step, getting air into the main tanks so I can release the parking brakes.
