2008 38F Mystery Radio Switch

Hey all:
I'm still getting used to my 2008 38F I purchased this Mar. This last week at EAA Airventure I finally decided to try out the outside TV and radio. PO had the fuse out so I replaced it, bought a new 2025 battery for the remote and all seemed fine until......
About 4 times (once still down in OSH and 3 times since it's been parked next to my house I started hearing noises. I thought it was the fridge but later found out it was the FM radio outside turned on. I opened the door, shut it off and again on two occasions I came home to the radio on. The remote is sitting right where I left it, nobody, to my knowledge had been by the MH.

What is turning this on???? Poltergeists have been eliminated.

Any help or suggestions are appreciated.

Steve

Kind of explains the fuse being pulled, huh? Some kind of short.
Perhaps post the radio make and model?

Agree with the previous post. Some sort of short/wiring issue. I have seen this in computers and laptops. Liquid or even humidity does REAL damage to electronics. Especially that this is the outside radio/tv.
Had a laptop once where the owner swore they never ever spilt any water on the laptop. They were complaining it would all of a sudden start typing random characters and even shut off by itself.
Never ever did they have any water in it!
Took the puppy apart and there was dried up coffee in the keyboard and worked it's way into the main board.
Never ever did any water spill in it. Never. Really.
So, may be time for a new radio. Maybe it's just the remote. See if you take the battery out of the remote see if it randomly starts then.

Thanks for the advise. I'll have to keep an eye on it and maybe install a separate single pole switch on the power line to it.

Mystery Solved......I think

It happens there is an alarm clock feature built into this radio. If you look carefully just right of top center on the display you will see the word ALARM.

DUH on me!!

Thanks for the help

Steve

Live and learn, cool. I noted that button but figured it was a no-brainer.

Happy motoring.

Also, you can reset it by pushing a paper clip in that tiny hole located to the left of the alarm button
