2012 Bounder 35k Dog house cover removal

Has anyone with a 2012 Bounder 35K removed their dog house cover? Ours is funky....there is a cut out on top of the cover that removes. (About 2.5 feet x 1.5 ft). It does not appear as if the entire cover can be removed. It appears as if the full cover has actually been glued down. It will be EXTREMELY difficult to install any insulation because you have to reach down that hole and try to stick it on the side that you can hardly reach.

Holy moly, isn't there a better way?!

The whole cover can be removed but you have to do a bit of searching in the carpet for the screws. There is some type of glue or resin sealing it that can be cut through.

I contacted Fleetwood this morning and they were very helpful. They provided a schematic of how the cover was installed. Yes indeed, it was glued down. BUT it can be removed. Will be a major undertaking, but we will get it done.

Dog House Work

I have a 2006 35E. I took the dog house off with the funky cutoff on the drivers side. Carpet is overlapped and acted to a wood strip that is screwed into the fiberglass dog house and the through into the metal sub frame. So layers or carpet, tack strip, screws and finally the dog house edge. I was tired of the noise and the heat. Texas summer driving was pushing the edges of the dog house where the insulation had gone to over 140 F. First thing was to get all the screws and carpet peeled back. Then I used a short crow bar and hammer to release the glue. I later cleaned this off and put in a stick on half round silicone seal for doors and windows. I cleaned off the entire dog house internally. I used a fiberglass and aluminum based insulator where the temp could be upwards of 300F direct and 450 indirect more than 6 inches away to heat of the engine. On the internal side of the dog house I put on house valley seal a butyl rubber and Aluminum shield as well. I will say the recent 95 degree drive allowed me to stay cool and cut noise about 50%. Things I discovered. No actual foam under carpet just glue. The cutout by the driver section of the dog house had no insulation or anything thus why I was hotter than the passenger most times.
