I have a 2012 Fleetwood Bounder Classic 34B. I spoke with the people that make the Magne Shade products and they do not have a template for the 2012 Bounder Classic. Is it safe to assume that the 2011 and the 2012 are the exact same? Can't wait to get the RV out on the road again and have been making a to do list of things to get done for this seasons trips. Thanks, for any responses!

Troy, you might contact Fleetwood and ask before anyone "assumes." Those Magne Shades are too expensive to not fit correctly!! (I just got a quote for our 2012 Bounder 33C this week...YIKES!! Nearly $900 for the windshield, driver and passenger windows.)

I agree, call Fleetwood. You might also find out if there are other models that share the same windshield, I wouldn't be surprised.
$900 sounds high. We're on our second set. The windshield, entry door and two side windows were about $600, and we spent a bit extra for a printed fabric. I think the windshield only was just below $400. You can spend more with options like printing a photo of your choice on the shade.
There are a couple photos of our coach on the Magne Shade site, including this one...

Sounds pretty good to me since I paid over $1200 for MCD shades (motorized windshield + manual driver/passenger) for our cockpit.

The Magne shades are for the exterior and attach with magnets. IMO they are too pricey. (Our coach came with the MCD motorized windshield shade.)

The quote I got this week was for BLACK, no print. $445 for the windshield, $195/ea for driver and passenger windows, $35 for shipping, plus tax.

Oh, I know the MagneShades are exterior - we looked at those before we got the MCD's. Does doubling up on the windshield make a difference with heat transfer? What about being able to see out with double coverage - or would you not use the MCD if the MagneShade was in place?

I have read that the heat transfer through the glass is much less if the shade is on the outside, so I am researching the various exterior shade options. I want something to shade the windows but allow us to see outside. The Magne shades look like they are a good product, just pricey.

The one thing with the MagneShades is they are high quality products. I do believe you get what you pay for. Other, "knock off's" weren't as nicely finished or had the higher quality fabrics. We seriously considered the MagneShades, but chose the MCD's because we decided we didn't want to have to take outside shades down when it's raining (no matter how easy they were to apply/remove) & then have to find a place to store wet shades until they dried.
I would think Roger would get patterns for the new coaches before too long. Maybe keep checking with him & wait if you're set on getting the MagneShades.

I prefer this shade. Keeps the heat out, provides privacy, meaning you can see out but you can't see in. I believe this fabric does a great job and I love it !

Yes, certainly for the snaps at the top. I carry a 6 ft ladder in the basement of the motorhome, so it's not a big deal. But, if a ladder is a problem, then you would not want these shades.

For the do it yourself person you can buy the whole roll of sun screen and make your own. It comes in different colors and sun blockage.

Sarah,
I have Magne Shade for my 2008 Winni, and I really enjoy them. If you have watched the video on the installation, it does only take about 30 seconds to put the windshield shade on, and your feet never leave the ground. I have windshield and side shades, but I don't use the side shades to much, I just close the drapes up to the windshield.
No snaps, just some very powerful magnets. The first time set up will take two people because the magnets have to be put in place on the inside. What I did was have DW on the inside, told her where to put the magnet in the top corner (I prefer to work right to left) when I put the shade up. She did and the two magnets held, then we continued with the rest of the magnets. Once everything was in place, I let the shade sit like that for a while in the sun. This helps and the outside can be "tweaked" to get a tight shade. Then just go inside, mark where the magnets are with a felt tip, take the magnet down, remove the sticky backing tape, put the magnet back up where the mark is. When you remove the magnet on the inside to stick it on permanently you will have the front one drop down, just go outside after sticking the inside one and using the "stick" put it back in place. Then just do the other magnets. All told, the first time can be about 30 minutes. After that it is only 30 seconds to install the screen.
I never have worried about rain. If wet, I just shake it out, roll it up, and put them into the carrying case. Next stop they come out and go up and will dry out fast, if they are still wet. Like any "shade," I feel keeping them clean is a must, so when I unroll them and store them I do it on the bed, not on the picnic table or ground. But that's me. Oh, to clean them, just use the same process as if you were washing the MH, and rinse good. The washing is done while they are in-place.
The exterior shade is much superior in keeping the heat out, and black is the best option. The lighter the color the more heat transfer. (Yes, it is just opposite of what you would expect, but it is not reflection, but absorption that is the factor - or something like that.)
Talk to Roger Hunckler. I believe he has had others as a "first time" and he instructed them on how to get a template. Or, take a nice drive to NC and let them do the measuring. Lot's to see along the way, and the return trip.
I did not think the price was to high considering the end product.
