2016 Bounders with 6-speed trannys

This is an aspect salesmen selling Fleetwood 2016 Bounders don't share with potential buyers. The new 6-speed (6R140) transmission in late-2016 Bounders have horsepower reduced from 362HP in the Triton 5-speed tranny to 320HP in the newer 6 speed tranny.
This is good to know info regarding towing capabilities.

Maybe Ford lowered the HP and widened the torque band to better use the 6 speed gearing when in high gear.

Shooting from the hip here, but with the extra gear, the first gear may have a lower range allowing for more pulling power off the line.

As stated I am sure there is more tq under 4K and I bet more HP under 4K as well

Peak numbers aren't all that important

Same motor, wouldn't be cost eff drive to redo a engine only for a new trans.... however something obviously must be different with the HP dropping and loosing 1,000 rpm's.

probably a simple ecu tune to shift the powerband to where it works better with the new trans....

EXACTLY!! You need to consider the area under the power curve rather than just the peaks.

Just looked on the Ford site back when they first announced the transmission was rumored as coming (2012-13) and then recent announcement. It appears to me they wanted a tran that could work with diesel or gas and had to limit the gas engine to make it look more like diesel. That may be all it is but it does open the door for the front engine diesel class A or class C again - a good idea in my view.
