2019 Discovery LXE vs. 2019 Winnebago Horizon
Hello All...
Getting very close to pulling the trigger on either Discovery or the Horizon.
Winnebago is about $100K more than the Discovery.
We are looking for a more contemporary interior and these are the only two that I have found that come close.
That said, I have looked at things side by side and I am having trouble understanding why the price difference is so much. Things like countertops, inverter, refrigerator, cabinets, floorings, bathrooms, etc. are all sort of the same.
Chassis, tire size, engine size/torque are all pretty darn close although the Winnebago is a slight step above the Discovery.
The Horizon did win the 2018 RV of the year, has a very contemporary interior and a 3 year, 100K interior house warranty that is really unmatched.
The Discovery LXE 40D has a somewhat less (although very nice) contemporary interior and a one year warranty on the house portion of the coach.
So I would love to hear some feedback from Discovery owners on your experience with anything Discovery.
We are leaning towards the Discovery not only because of the price difference but because I am having trouble justifying the extra cost.
Any input would be most appreciated!

We have had our 2018 40D for about 8 months now and love it. As with any new RV we have had a few issues, all minor, most of which I fixed myself. Overall, the floorplan is very livable. We replaced the L-sofa with twin theatre seating and that really improved the comfort in our living area. Overall we are pleased with our purchase and would do it again.
For $100K over the cost of the Discovery, I'd be looking at a Newmar Dutch Star 4362 or 4369. I'm not a Winni fan so I wouldn't go looking there. Have fun shopping!

We have had our 2017 40E for just over a year. I think you really get a lot of bang for your buck in the Discovery. My only real complaint is the shower. It has the molded in seat which takes up a lot of floor space. I think the new ones have a tile shower with a flip up seat.

Agree. There are lots of others to consider for that $100k difference. (But I'd probably choose the Discovery. )

Thanks to all. As I may have responded to some of you: If Newmar would get away from the Ultra Traditional interiors they would most definitely be on the list.
Glad to hear everyone liking their Fleetwoods!
I know all coaches have issues so we completely understand that reality!

2013 40e, love it would buy another in a heartbeat. Ours must be a Wednesday coach as most issues were "operator" induced.

I know certain 2018 XLE's had recalls on them. Be sure those were corrected for 2019.

2 years into a 2016 Discovery 40E, few problems, love the drive. Could not see paying $100k more for cosmetic differences, either!!
