OK, I have succumbed to the peer pressure and ordered a unit. Looking forward to excellent results.

I did the 5 star on my 2014 35k. I can cooberate the good stories. Mine still sometimes does the 3rd gear downshift tho when I'm towing my jeep. It's not as often though and handles overpasses pretty well.

Best part is the excelleration. Overall worthwhile investment if anyone is on the fence.

Smile 5 Star

Ok fellas and gals, after all the posting on the 5 Star Tuning. I made the purchase and yesterday did the install. Very simple and straight forward, if you follow the directions. The suspense of actually knowing the new tune was killing me. Fired the V10 up and immediately knew there was a difference. The cranking was a smooth quick start. Did not miss the previous roar from the V10. Left out from the storage location and again, immediate notice a difference in shifting and acceleration and quieter sound. Mind you driving in town at 45 may not impress some but for me it did the trick. Simple deduction if the difference is that great at 45, I cant imagine the difference on the open road. Trip planned for San Diego in a couple weeks, really looking forward to seeing the difference on that long drawn out Cajon Pass. MojoRacing, I thank you for convincing me. Your write up was very well written and help me make my mind up. As others have said, it is pricy. All would not agree it equals the improvement. You can put me down for certainly becoming a believer. Thanks again guys for all the input. Happy Travels. Also will report back after the San Diego trip and let it be known how it all went.

Received mine as well and have installed the tune. Haven't taken it out of the driveway yet, but certainly looking forward to the "new ride"!!

It seems like many (most?) of the folks putting this in have newer rigs.
Do you suppose it would be as helpful to a 20 year old with a Chevy 454 engine?
For that matter, is it even available for an older coach?

I would contact 5 star and inquire. Just google them and a phone number should show up. I would have given it not around the paperwork that came with unit.

Did that!! About 30 years ago we sold the boat, the boat well, the moorage space, then let the yacht club membership expire. Just got tired of going up the river and then down the river with no real purpose.

So far my travels have just been in the flat state of Florida. Mine will do a downshift to 3rd every once in a while but at least it downshifts to 4th first and if still not keeping up it then goes to third. At least it's not the 5th to 3rd it used to do all the time.
It is definitely better cancelling cruise if a decent hill is coming. So far cancelling on a hill can almost always keep me in 4th. It'll be a year or 2 before I head west into the Rockies. Out there all bets are off - haha. For now, if I can only fix that one squeak in the dash I'd be a happy camper...

Squeaks must be hunted down and killed just like the taliban. They will drive you nuts!

LMAO!!! I'm a 100% disabled 4 time combat vet. The mental picture that "hunting them down like Taliban" comment put in my head made me bust up laughing so hard that I shot coffee out my nose, ouch!! HAHAHAHA!!!

Great thread! I'm ordering.
