80" long mattress on a 75" frame

Purchased a new 2015 33C with a king size mattress. But the mattress is 5" longer than the frame, so it sags when you sit on the end of the bed. Not sure if anyone else has had this problem but I did come up with a fix. Photo attached.

My platform is the same length as the mattress not 75". 2014 33C came with king and replaced with queen within 6 months but they were both the same length.

Plywood, Either 1/2 inch or 3/4 Cut it to the size of the matress less liek 1/2 inch and center it under the matress (the less 1/2 inch is optional and it is to protect your legs as you get in/out of bed)

If you need you can bolt it to the frame to hold it in place.

You attach the photo by uploading it to the site. Click attachment button, browse to your photo on your computer, upload photo, click on attachment button to insert photo in post. I don't believe Fleetwood would make the platform so short. I have to see this to believe it. Queen and King are the same length.

These platforms are finished items. Trim around the edges and all. If anything is done, it has to have some class. That's why I want a picture. Something sounds weird here.

Woodydl,

As I said, the platform is 75" long and the mattress is 80" long, as you can see in the pictures I've posted. The extension I made is 1 1/2" Alder. 3 supports attached to the frame. The top is 2 pcs. and there are cutouts so you can raise the platform base. When the slide is closed, I have 1/2" clearance from the drawers. I am in contact with Fleetwood to find out why this happened. And yes, I do make furniture.

I have the same issue with my Newmar. However, I can't just add a permanent extension as the bed is on a slide and when the slide is closed, it is tight against the wardrobe. So I've been thinking along the lines of a hinged extension that would fold back under the mattress for storage. It would have to have folding legs as well. Lift up the end of the mattress, fold back the extension and the legs, drop mattress back down on top of the extension and close the slide. Should be easy enough.

Harley, doesn't the mattress scrunch up against the wardrobe?

Is it possible they installed queen short (75") on the side rails and king on the ends?
