I purchased some property with a 91 Avion 5th wheel on it. I appears to be about 35 ft long with a single slide over the axles. I would like to ask your help with the following basic questions:
- Where on the rig can I find the model number and the VIN?
- Is the slide electric or hydraulic?
- How do you access the area where the slide motor is located?
- Where is the controls for the front jacks?

I have ordered a copy of the owners manual from Fleetwood, but it has not arrived yet.

The rig is in very good condition and with a little TLC I hope to make it look like new again.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Steve

We have a 95 Avion 5er and I can tell you how it was on a 95 model 36.5M

Our S/N is in two places, a small placquard by the door and also on the GVWR tag at the left front corner.

Slide is hydraulic.

Mine has the hydraulic pump in the lower right and front storage compartment. You should be able to hear it run.

Control for front jacks is in a lockable door (4" x 4") on the left front corner about shoulder level.

THe older Avions are really build well and well appointed for the era.

TXiceman,
I really appreciate your information. Even though it is a 91, it is still a great rig. I can't wait to really make it shine.
Thanks again,
Steve

Steve, yours was built in Nebraska I believe. Shortly after 1995, Fleetwood moved the plant to CA and the QC went downhill. Then they moved it to Longview, Texas and they were built like a fancy Prowler. Sure a long way from what an Avion was.

They are built stout and with quality materials. We are selling ours since it is just to big and we had a chance to get a great vintage 1979 Silver Streak.

With the current quality of trailers, it makes me wonder how many will still be around in 20 or more years.
