Hi!!

This seems like a good place to post some questions. 😁

I'm a complete newbie. I have learned a few things but have such a long way to go.

Currently waiting to get a diagnostic scan to see why the check engine light comes on. I'm really hoping it will be an easy fix since my son & I have to do as many of the repairs as we possibly can. Tight, tight budget.

First question: The a/c worked great the first couple of days we used it. Went to church the 3rd morning. When we came back, hot air was blowing out of the vents. We turned the a/c off and had a neighbor with more knowledge come look at it. He tried turning it back on but the fan wouldn't even come on. Checked the breakers and fuses. All seemed okay. Shortly after, the fridge stopped working. About an hour later, the lights inside stopped working.

Any idea what happened?

Also, we unhooked the power and everything to drive this thing to the mechanic. When my son parked it and turned it off, one of the lights came on and the fridge lights came on. And a vent fan that slowly stopped working last night came on after we parked it here. What's up with that? Did everything get switched to some other power source somehow??

Thanks for any help anyone can give.
I apologize for this being so long.
Have a wonderful day.
God bless you all.

Your problems may all be associated with the batteries. Driving it to the mechanic's place evidently charged the batteries up enough for things to work for a while.

You could have the batteries checked and evaluated as well as check the converter to see if it is charging the batteries while plugged into shore power.

Shore Power

Hello.

Thanks for your reply. So even if we're plugged in at the campground and getting all our power from that, a bad battery can still effect performance of our electric? The engine battery is a brand new gel battery. The house battery is old and probably should be replaced.

Thank you again!!

It sounds like your house batteries are not being charged. Check that the salesmen switch is not turned off. It will not let the converter charge the batteries if it is turned off. 90% chance this is causing all your problems.

Agreed. Definitely check to make sure the coach battery switch (also known as "Salesman switch") is on while you are plugged in. It should look something like this:

Hi there,
If you're on a Chevy Chassis you can diagnose your check engine light yourself if you feel up to it, all you need is a paper clip. See my reply, post # 21 in this thread

Your ALDL connector should be somewhere around the bottom of the steering column.

There's a list of codes and the related problem here
