98 American Eagle battery identification.

OK, gang, get your yuks out now because this one, I'm sure, is going to sound really stupid, but I'm stumped.
There are two sets of batteries in my 98 American Eagle. One set of two on the bottom of the compartment and four on a swing out rack above.
My question is: which set are the engine batteries and which are the coach batteries?
I've searched the forums, but I guess no one else was ignorant enough to ask the question before.
Any responses would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

That is interesting.

Your batteries are set up the opposite of mine.

I have two 12 volt batteries on a swing out which are the batteries to start the engine.

I have four 6 volt deep cycle batteries on the bottom which are the coach batteries.

My Older 92 is Identical to Glens set-up!
Just trace the large cable from your starter back to one or the other set to determine which set are your Start and which are Coach. I ran a Charge wire to my Start Batteries from my on board charger years ago. Glad I did because my Alternator failed on a trip to Florida and it was -10 deg to 35 deg till I hit Florida- Ran my Generator all the way down which charged both sets of Batteries and ran the everything just fine.

The two-battery set is for the engine/chassis. The four-battery set is for the house 12v system.
