98 Eagle Dash Light Out

Dash Lights Out on our 98 American Eagle. I opened the dash cover then pulled the full dash top to get access. All the dash lights work after testing with alternate power. Seems like the old style headlight switch dimmer is worn out. Tried to remove the shaft but it is not coming out. Does anyone know what the part number is? I do now that it is a Chevy headlight switch, but it looks different than the ones on You Tube. I have wired the dash lights to the headlight power so they work in the meantime.
Has anyone experienced the same problem removing the shaft out of the switch? When I do get a new light switch I will probably cut off the shaft and replace.

Try American Coach Parts, their prices are not as bad as you might think.

There is a springloaded little button on the metal body of the switch, depress and jiggle the knob and it will almost fall out. Just a little patience, your new switch will NOT come with the knob and shaft!

Just replaced mine

I have a 1999 Eagle. Got mine at CARQUEST. It is a GM product. They should have a catalog with pictures. Part Number BWD S427P interchange for 5322316. Listed for $24.59, got mine for $14.47f and tax.

Thanks Mike. There's a CARQUEST just minutes away. I like to buy local to get to know what the parts stores have in stock. Still going to call American Coach to find out their price.
