Buttons are not lit on the wheel on the F53.

Mine doesn't. Also there is no indicator light that the cruise control is ON. Unfortunately, this is normal.

I wasn't going to mention it, but I see your user name is Mr Wrench.....

I have modified both my steering wheel switches and cruise indicator to light up. Wasn't easy, but it is possible.

Tderonne could you tell us how you did this. I would love to have a light somewhere to let me know when it is on.

I mentioned the cruise/speed control indicator light here before.

http://www.irv2.com/forums/f23/cruis...ts-175591.html

It's just one wire that is missing, from pin#1 on the cruise servo/module to the cluster connector (I forget the pin there). The light is in the '99-'04 cluster (not sure about later ones) and the circuit traces are there so you just have to add a pin. I'm a junkyard kind of guy, so it was easy to grab a couple connectors with short lengths of wire to play with.

The Ranger thread I linked then has lost its pictures. Let me see if I can find some.

Of course I can't find any good pictures now. Looks like people have done it on Rangers and Focuses. I can find a couple write ups, but no good pictures. I think I still have some of the parts I grabbed at the junkyard. If I can find them, I'll try to get a picture or two.
