I run the compressor off the park pedestal just in case, and I keep all tires are around 115-120 psi (max tire psi is 125) so I don't need to worry about coach weight unless is gets over the max. I check the MH weight ocassionally on the scales which cost about $10.00.

Also, I use Pressure Pro TPMS so I can check all tire pressures in an instant on a regular basis. Pressure Pro and other TPMS's provide tire temps along with inflation psi.

Speaking of Pressure Pro, I do have a few complaints and hope they change it.
(1) It's difficult to remember all the menu drilling down and config steps without the manual and especially if you haven't done it for a few months. The menu setup and config is confusing and complex without the manual.
(2) Tire temps are not displayed without drilling down the menu and the WORST is the temps are centigrade and no way to change the readout to Farenheight.
(3) Once a base psi per tire reading has been established, the alarm will go off early cold mornings. This could be corrected with a flashing sleep button so you don't have to turn off the system or re-establish a new base temp.
(4) The monitor and 6 sensors cost $500.00 (WAY too much), $300.00 more for a toad repeater and 4 more sensosrs. A whopping $800.00 bucks for a complete system not including special valve extensions if needed, etc.
(5) Sensors must be removed to add air and then the monitor must be reconfig (daunting task without the manual) for any sensor removed to add air.
(6) The teeny tiny little lock nut on the back side of the sensor is not easy to get too and can lossen valve extenders for sensor locking and removal unlocking.
(7) The monitor graphical display of the RV vehicle and Toad are great but appears outdated and cheap.
(8) Sensor batteries are not replaceable. New sensors at $50.00 bucks each must be pruchased.
(9) Monitor wireless RF frequency is set and cannot be adjusted for interference problems.

I've been thinking the same thing Gary. I had to add air once last summer during our trip from basically sea level to Yellowstone. Oh, and it was about five pounds on the two front. I was able to use my on board compressor and yes it maybe took a little longer but the expense of buying, storing and hauling a compressor was saved. Oh thats right, I own one, I just choose to not carry it.

I own one and don't carry it either. But my tires rarely lose air on their own (some people are not that lucky) and I can get close enough on the fronts with the onboard system that I would not worry about driving a ways on them to a truck stop. My rears run at 85 psi, so no sweat there.

I did, however, carry a small Sears tankless compressor when I had a gas rig with no onboard air.

You can use nitrogen if you want, but why not just carry a tank of compressed air? Lots cheaper and does the job nicely. And it is 70% nitrogen anyway.

Do any of you remember when American Petrofina had an advertising gimmick of free pink air? It was back in the 60's.

As matter of fact, how many Texans even remember American Petrofina?

my pop owns a welding supply company and when I'm visiting I can nab a tank when he's not looking...
