Alcoa hubcaps

Wow! On our first outing in our new 2007 Bounder 35E we apparently lost the hubcap off the left front Alcoa wheel. It was there when we put the rig into the storage yard, but when we got to the campground it was gone so either someone in the yard grabbed it, or it's on the side of the road somewhere. Anyway, I figured it would be fairly easy to replace - I went to the Southwest Wheel website (they're an Alcoa dealer) and saw that they have various models for around $12 - $15 but I didn't see any listings for our 22 1/2 inch wheels. I sent them a photo of the remaining hubcap and they replied that it was not an Alcoa cap - apparently Fleetwood makes these in-house and just adds an Alcoa logo in the center. The next stop was the dealer - our service guy says he can order us one - for $120 is that a markup or what?

The wife says she wants the front wheels to match so she ordered it. Next time I think I'll make my own!

Maybe someone familar with Fleetwood manufacturing could answer: does Fleetwood actually produce their own wheels? If so, how can they add the logo of another manufacturer? I would think that if there is a Alcoa logo, those wheels are genuine Alcoa's and you should be able to get replacement parts... surely Fleetwood can't produce those wheels at a lower cost then Alcoa... I would do more research for better pricing.

I recently wanted to order some larger V-Max replacement Velvac mirror heads. Winnebago dealer wanted $410 each... ordering direct through Velvac, $315 each. Found Ryder Fleet Products and bought them on line for $176 each, no shipping fee, as they were drop-shipped directly from ...VELVAC!

I think someone losted one awhile ago, don't know what kind. Said he went to a truck stop and they had them there. I think he said he paid about 15 or 20 bucks. Also might try some of the trucks shops.

You may have figured it out by now but Fleetwood does not use Alcoa wheels. They use wheels made by Accuride.

So does Accuride now put the Alcoa name on their wheels? Mine definitely say "Alcoa" right on them:

Nope. Two different companies.

Not yet - I sent the above photo to Southwest Wheel and they told me the cap wasn't an Alcoa cap. My next step will be to find out if Southwest Wheel sells anything that will fit for a reasonable price - there's no way I'm paying $180 for one from Fleetwood!

Your cap is the same as mine. it was manufactured by PHOENIX USA http://www.phoenixusa.com/ you can find them on line. On mine there is a part number on the inside on a little sticker. But if you go to the web site you can find it I think its under 30.00 if you need help let me know.
Just went out and took mine off and got the part number. Q1402 Q1402 n/a 4 SPLINE EMBLEM INDENT POP-IN FRONT BABY MOON $23.32

Copy of Email and answer from Phoenix USA. I inquired about one that would fit Ford I think WH is the same

Yes, the parts are as follows:

Q1402 $19.82, emblem front baby moon, (4 spline)

CLABC275 $4.34, Alcoa black / silver logo

If you need to order these let me know.

Thanks

Subject: replacement cover

Is the Q1402 hub cover for a Ford 22.5 Alcoa wheel available with the Alcoa logo in the center. If so what is the price.

Thank you, Richard Snapp

My center cap got nicked at Walmart I too had trouble locate replacement. I called Alcoa and they do have the part for Q1402. Posting this so others searching like me will know that it does *not* cost $150 to replace. They gave me phone number of Haltec 18003216471 authorized seller vs. having to find a dealer or go through RV high markup places. Cost me $44 including shipping so it's a lot but certainly more reasonable than $150!
