American Coach

After researching for 6 months, my wife and I have decided on the American Coach Dream, the 45 foot model with the 600hp Cummins. Only to find out that AC is changing pretty much everything in the Dream and Revolution lines. Anyone know what their strategy is? Frustrated. The only model offering the larger engine is the Eagle which is out of our price range.......

??
They still list the 45A as 600hp on the web site for 2018. When did are they changing? The 42G is 450 hp but also not 45 ft.

I know in 2017 they dropped Tradition and changed Dream so that the new 45ft Dreams were pretty much like the 2016 45 ft Traditions.

If you look at the 2018.5 Brochure which you can download from the website. Both the Revolution and Dream products are significantly different. It appears that the Revolution has been downsized as well as the Dream. You’re correct, the website under 2018 shows the 600hp available in the Dream. The brochure just showed up in the past week or so is my guess. Not sure what’s going on with AC.

I looked and I think you are talking about SE models. It was my understanding those were not replacements but additional models. I would suggest contacting a dealer or AC directly to be sure. I would offer to check Monday when I am in Decatur for service but knowing me I would forget to check.
They also still have the old 2018 Dream as well as the 2018.5 Dream SE in the brochures and both look current.

i swear the marketing guys at Rev Group smoke whacky weed! First they decide to bring back the Dream nameplate in place of the Tradition, but make it the same coach. Well, ok, maybe they think a name change will stimulate new interest? Then they say, "Wait, we need a lower entry price on a near-luxury model, so let's make a Dream SE". Why not just bring the Dream back in the "SE" price point and leave the well-known Tradition in place. And have two easily recognizable names for the different models? Too simple, I guess! Of course, back in 2004 they did much the same thing when their predecessors replaced the Dream with the Tradition, which up to that point had been the "near luxury" model a step below the Dream. Then they used the Revolution model to fill the price point where the Tradition used to be. It's a name game...

Gary, the history/heritage of these lines means nothing to these clowns. I’m not a Holiday Rambler Guys, but those guys love their coach lines. One of the storied HR lines was the Navigator. It was always the standard bearer. The rocket scientists at REV took that name & stuck it on an entry level DP. I understand that it really doesn’t matter but I’m suspicious of those with no knowledge or appreciation of history.

Call the REV group and ask them...they'll talk to you. We are on our second AC. Over the years, since they brought the Revolution up to the AC line, it has been quite obviously the 'entry' level coach in the AC line.

Just took a look at the SE brochures - they put the Revolution front end on the Dream SE, and the Revolution SE front end looks more like a Holiday Rambler, or even the current regular Dream.

Blending some interiors with the Discovery XL it looks like too. Lots of overlap with the largest Discovery and the entry Revolution. Lots of overlap among all the REV product lines.

The Revolution's iconic front end is what made me fall in love with it. Why in the world would that be changed?

I think there are too many brands that are beginning to overlap under the Rev umbrella...

The only other thing I can think of is in 2015/2016, they produced some other Revolutions (they are mainly white on the exterior) with extra parts they had from different product lines when Allied Recreation Group became REV Group. Maybe something similar until they get all these brand and product offerings figured out. Just a thought.

This all makes sense. I also noticed that other than the 44' Revolution they dropped the HP to 380.
