Howdy ; you remember the recall American had back in 1999 ( NHTSA 99V277000 & Fleetwood #91015) that delt with the OEM Goodyears that were underrated for the front of American coaches from 1995- 2000!

Was there a Fleetwood or Spartan reconfigurement of the HCVs ( ride height control valves) that was either tied to the GY tire recall or otherwise separate Fleetwood action ( The OEM Ridewell HCVs had a design / materials flaw that cause premature air leaks ?

This is news to me? What specifically was the problem that drove this recall? I will look this up tonight when I return from work.

Its a well known issue with owners of Spartan intermediate chassis ( i.e. Mountain Master, MM1, MM 2242, K2, IC 2242, Highlander , ect) that the OEM Ridewell ride height control valves (HCV) #1054008 ( body cast#7423) from 1993 to 2002 had material/design failures . The failure was the 1/4NPT steel insert and the injected molded cavity partline. A crack developed and would leak.

My assumption is that either Spartan or coach mfg'er would reconfigure the ride height to compensate for the taller series tires used in the tire recall of 1999 or the continuing failure of the HCVes.

When asking American Coach ( my coach), they refer you to Spartan Chassis Parts dept. After supplying Spartan with the last six (6) digits of the VIN #, the parts person offers the Ridewell universal HCV, Extreme-Air. The knew Ridewell Extreme -Air HCV is not a direct bolt-in replacement for several reasons.
