Any Bounder Owners using the TST 507 TPMS?

Hey everyone. I am shopping for a new TPMS for our Bounder. We have had the Doran TPMS for the past 3 years and it has worked reliably well. However the sensors are beginning to fail; I assume batteries are dying. (Which kind of cheeses me because we were told 5-7 years of battery life...plus we remove them when the Bounder is in storage so they have actually only been used a few months total. ) Replacement sensors are $45/each, so for 10 sensors I may as well buy an entire new system.

ANYWAY... after reading 5,000 pages of TPMS stuff on the forum, I'm thinking I may order the TST 507's with the flow-through sensors. My main concern about the TSTs is the size of them and whether they will fit on our front wheels, since I have read a few posts saying they don't fit well on the drive tires. Do any of you Bounder owners run the TST 507's, and how hard are they to install/remove?

I will also consider the older 510 model with the non-replaceable batteries. Not sure which would be the best solution for us.

If you run the TSTs, I will appreciate any info. Thanks.

Thanks, Cliff. I don't suppose you have a photo of that setup by any chance? The Dorans fit all our wheels with no problem, so now I'm wondering if I should just buy new sensors and stay with those. I like the temperature feature on the TSTs, though.

That photo is the inner duel and yes it had an extension as most duels have. The outer didn't have an extension. The extension on the front was about a 1" metal one. It was necessary to be able to get the wrench in there to tighten the sensor.

Thanks again. That wrench is one reason I'm hesitating on the TSTs. Our Dorans just screw onto the stem and then have a tiny set-screw that locks them on with a small allen wrench.

You have to do what's best for you. I had this system for five trouble free years.

I have 507 flow throughs on the coach (22.5's) and locking on the toad. They went right on with stems in place. There is a set screw on the flow throughs but you don't have to use it. Just screw them on. I haven't had them stolen yet and check them occasionally.

The little wrench on the locking sensors on the toad is simple to use and not an issue.
I very happy with the product. Our Bounder is a little different from yours so I'll take a couple pics for you tomorrow.

Don you have aluminum rims or wheel simulators?

We don't have a Bounder but did have the TST 507 on our previous rig, a 2002 Dutch Star DP. I put the cap ones on the front as the flow throughs would have extended out too far for my liking. Used the flow throughs on the rears. No extensions but I did have the steel stems on the Alcoa's. Also had to get the repeater as Newmar adds extra metal around the rear axle area and signals couldn't get through. Never a problem after that. Bought batteries from Amazon and changed them for the summer season. Did have a couple monitors go bad though, last one was working fine when we traded the MH off.

According to the brochure, we have 22.5" aluminum wheels.

I will appreciate the pics, Steve.
