We recently bought our first TT! It is a 2004 Yukon Wilderness 830Y. We Tow with a 5.3L 2003 Chevy Avalanche with a 4.10 diff and a Hensley Arrow hitch (we love it!) and a Teconsah Prodidgy Brake Controller. We have also purchased a Honda EU3000SI Gen Set.

We have had a custom built carrying tray added to the rear of the trailer to carry the Gen Set and our bikes.

Wondering if there are other members of IRV2.net that have the same TT.

What have been your experiences good or bad?

Any useful or intersting mods that you have made and why?

What do you tow you TT with?

What do you do to maintain your TT in good working order and in good appearance?

Thanks

We have a Prowler 829T. I beleive this unit comes down the same line at the same time as yours at Fleetwood along with a couple other similar sized chassis. Ours is currently back at Lindsay Ontario getting a few issues resolved (mainly the slide leaking and dealer incompetency). We love the layout as it suits us best. We haven't made too many changes to the unit. One thing I would like to get is a powered jack, but can't justify this with the DW at the moment. I would love to see a pic of the carry tray you have for the generator and bikes! We tow our unit with a Ford Superduty extended cab 4x4 and find it a breeze.
As for keeping it clean, I washed the roof with a scrubber last year part way through the summer which helped reduce the black streaks when it rained. Then we regularily was the unit and wax or spray down with 303 protectant which makes that much easier the next time.
Cheers,

We have a Prowler 830y and enjoy it very much. The open layout suits our family well. No mods other than a Yamaha generator, but we have had some service issues. The unit had a roof leak when we bought it, than it developed another leak around the curbside bedroom window. So far the paneling in the bedroom has been replaced twice, and the floor and vinyl once. Also had a shear pin break on the slide mech. Our dealer has repaired everything under warranty so far.
Otherwise we really like it!

I knew I wasn't alone. Our '04 Lynx 830Y has experienced a leak in the slide (when closed and driving in the rain). Supposedly fixed with new seal, but haven't traveled in the rain to find out for sure. Have had a weird leak from the area of the refrigerator vent, but only when the wind blew the rain a certain way. Unfortunately it is not an issue with the vent design or cracks, defintely a roof leak. This too may have been repaired by dealer. Anyone have an issue with their slide button when trying to open the slide? Dealer has not been able to duplicate the problem (of course) so they haven't done anyhting. I did add a power jack up front and love it. Aside from these periodic headaches, we love our unit.
I too would like to see pictures of your carrying tray.
One more thing; ours was made in the Marylland plant.
