LOL.... I didn't realize we had an audience. I just re-read it and it does kind of read like a Tom Clancy novel..... Technical detail..... Plot.... Suspense (will this fix it).... Disaster (no, still broken).... I'll be sure to post the last chapter.

I'm just grateful there are people like Old Bounder on here willing to share their time and experience. It saves us countless hours and dollars.

I snipped the #10 wire on plug 4 (left enough to do a splice to the plug because you never know ;-), spliced some similar wire and a ring terminal to the cut wire, and fastened to the solenoid where the yellow wire used to be. I hear the click when I press the Aux button, and no blown fuses. Phase 1 complete. Waiting for the BIRD to come in for Phase 2.

Here is how the Bird needs to be wired into your setup. You could add in-line fuses of about 5 to 7 amps in the coach battery and Ignition leads if you think necessary.

The BIRD came in, simple to hook up per Old Bounder's instructions, and functions perfectly.. Aux start now works, Aux batteries charge from alternator while driving, and chassis battery charges from converter while on shore power. Best of all worlds. Thanks for all the great advice and support OB.

Good show, my friend.
Don't you just love it when a plan comes together?

I certainly do. And I gained a little forgotten skill back regarding how to check and troubleshoot electrical systems and read diagrams to boot! Don't tell my wife, but the challenge and enjoyment of fixing stuff like this is a big part of the reason I bought an older (vs newer) RV.
