Re: my 03 Pace Arrow, 36B - - The 12v light for the hook-ups basement compartment (water, elec, tv, dump, etc) does not work. Took light cover off, removed bulb, and checked for power. None there.

Then took light fixture off, disconected the connector, and checked for power at the 12v connector coming out of the wall. No power.

According to the wiring diagram (which is very hard to read) it looks like the power comes from the light switch on the instrument panel and not from the other basement lights.

Since this light has never worked since I bought the coach used, I do not know how it would normally be turned on. I assumed it would turn on with the luggage light switch (all the other basement lights work on that switch) but I am not sure which switch operates this light. All I know is the light does not work.

Can anyone verify where the light switch is for this year, model of coach?

Hi there,
The time you will consume in troubleshooting that problem is way more than rewire that light. It's simple any. ANYBODY can do it anyway. That's what i did on my previous coach.

I have a n 05 36B PA. My compartment for the water, hookups, sewer, etc is seperate from all other compartments. It lights from the dash sw. labled Utility Sw. and also turns on the outside top yellow lighton the Driver side. All my other compartments are lighted from a switch by the entry door labled Compartment. You should have two seperate switches. Utility and Compartment.

Thanks FreshAir. I will check again for the utility switch. Did not see it today when troubleshooting.

I do have a non-operable ICC switch which I believe is for flashing lights when semi's pass and want to pull over. At least it does not seem to do anything that I can discover.

As an aside, after posting earlier I disovered that the luggage switch by the entry door (which lights when turned on) still works the basement lights but the switch does not light when on. Could be coincidence or ???

The ICC switch only lights all the lights on the top of the rig and the two lower amber side lights with key in the on or off position.

Checked for a utility switch on the inst. panel and no luck. Still do not know how to turn that basement light on.

Does anyone out there have an 03 Pace Arrow and if so, how do you get the dump station luggage light to turn on. Mine has no power to it so it must either be a switch somewhere or a problem in the elec system. All other luggage lights illuminate when I turn on the luggage light switch by the main door.

I have an '03 Pace 36B.

On the dash to the right of the steering column is a switch with the picture of a dome light, this light will turn on the outside amber light between the slides on the driver's side of the coach. It also controls power to the lights in the service bay.

j.smith's got it. Although we've got an 06 Bounder, the utility bay light & also the white round spotlight (I call it the scare light) at the top of the coach above the bay area are controlled by that switch with the picture of a light on it. Our switch is located in a bank of toggle switches (genny start & the 2 windshield fans) that run above our radio, just to the right of the steering column.

Thanks J. Smith and NLOVNIT for letting me know which switch controls the service bay light.

Found the blown fuse in the engine bay, replaced it, turned the switch on and it blew again. Direct short.

Took off the service bay light fixture and discovered the black wire insulation going from the light connector to the light had been cut and exposed by the fixture mounting screw and causing a direct short. Wrapped it with electrical tape, reinstalled it, replaced fuse, and both the engine bay and service bay lights now work.

Navl AV8R....I am so glad you found the switch and problem. I have the same MH as you and love it.

Maybe this is to obvious to mention, but Just remember..the actual bay lights have on/off switches too so make sure all switches are on to operate.

Yes, I know about the on/off switches on the bay lights. I leave them all in the "on" position all the time so that when I turn the luggage light switch to the "on" position they all go on. All that is except the service bay and the engine bay.

Now in the engine bay, that has a different kind of light fixture that has no switch on it. Maybe yours is different.

We also love our PA. We live in it for 5 mos in the summer and have found the third slide makes a great improvement in desireability and convenience.

Only thing we don't love is the reclining chair. We hardly ever use it and it is always in the way. I plan on removing it next week and leaving it here in FL before we leave for MN for the summer. We frequently use the sofa bed with the grandkids and when we do the chair makes the whole experience a headache.

If I can only figure out how to get that 500 lb chair out of the skinny door all by myself.

I thought it was obvious to you, just making sure

engine bay light has only the switch inside.

Yeah, the third slide is awsome as we live in ours in the summer, but only only weekends and weekly vacations. We have ours parked near Flagstaff AZ (7000 ft elevation) to get out of the Phoenix heat as much as possible.

What I dont like about the chair is its location. We use the pull out couch for the kids too. Actually, I wished the door would be where the chair is. This way it would farther back for tv and be out of way. Like the PA 37c floor plan. I also wished I had back the booth dinette set. The original owner removed and sold it and put a table and 4 chairs....ugh.

Anyway....any questions dont hesitate to ask.

Terry, take the chair apart. At a minimum remove the bottom ring which is a some of the weight and the chair will fit through the door easier too.

I not only removed the chair, but I also removed the coach/hide-a-bed. Didn't need it anymore. Grandkids got bigger and don't have any interest in going in motorhome anymore.

We replaced the coach with a love seat. Smaller and lighter. By removing the coach and chair we saved close to 200 lbs in weight. Also mounted a flat screen tv on a smaller tv stand/table where that big chair used to sit.
