I know that one of the natural results of battery charging and gassing is the buildup of white powder on unprotected metal in and around the battery compartment. On my coach there is a metal frame that surrounds top of the 4 Trojan 6 volt batteries and is held down by 2 threaded rods on each battery. Lots of metal surface for the corrosion to collect on. Recently I had a chance to see a 2008 version of my Expedition and the hold downs were simple crows foot brackets that hooked into the plastic moldings at the end of each battery. Seemed to me these little brackets would reduce the amount of exposed metal that would have to be protected by anti corrosion spray. The question I have is where can I find these little brackets and get rid of that big framework?

add oil to the batteries to eleminate the acid mist that is eating the metal parts.

Are you saying to add oil to the inside of the battery where you would normally add water, or apply it to the outside metal parts to prevent corrosion?
