If its just stripped out can it be drilled and threaded then use a threaded insert back to original size or is it toast.

Very disappointing that in America today, a factory/manufacutrer does not have the fibre to stand behind their product.
So, I will now look for a reputable repair facility in South Florida.
To all who participated in my thread, thank you very much.

Was waiting for that post Jim!
I experienced the same treatment. Everything short of hanging up on you!

Bed room slide problem

The gear housing plate self destructed. The attached photo(s) should show the damage, if they come through. Otherwise I would just say the aluminum cast thread housings disintegrated.

When my slide power gear motor broke I was able to Google the part number and buy a new motor and replace it (after I found out that power gear wouldn't deal with the general public). Thanks for the follow up, it sounds like the motor itself is not the problem in this case.

Bed room slide problem

That is what I have just done. I secured a "new" motor on e-bay, and am waiting for delivery. Power Gear would not sell me the cast mounting plate part and re-directed me to an authorized dealer for the repair. I guess no one in their management had to take shop classes in high school, but I digress.
Will let youall know how it works out. Am hopeful to make it out for a weekend in the Everglades this coming Friday.

Bed room slide problem

All;
Thanks for your support. The "new" motor was found and secured on e-bay. Installation was pretty straight forward. I did provide 3/8" spacers at each of the four mounting holes to provide a more stable and aligned set-off surface where the shaft enters the drive than the original installation. New stainless bolts, spacers and shear pins from Ace Hardware and the motor went together like you all said.
Powered up the Discovery, hit the switch and it worked like the day I bought it new 7 years ago.
