Bedroom Slide - only opens

2003 Fleetwood Excursion 38U (Cat diesel) bedroom Slide will open, but not close. No sound when trying to close - dead. Switch is confirmed good. Also confirmed that motor lock switch (on motor) is in correct position.

Thinking it is the slide controller. Have also read other posts that suggest relays. Any idea where the controller and/or relays are located on this Fleetwood coach?

Thanks

If both slides use the same type of controller you could swap them to verify if one is bad or not.

Slideout won't close

Good thought. Simply not sure if a separate controller is present for each slideout. Do you know where your slideout controller is for the bedroom? Tks

On our 2008 Expedition all three slide controllers were all located in the electrical bay. So it was really easy to move the wires from one controller to another controller.
This is the bay where your power cord is housed and ours also had the BCC in it.

Bedroom Slide

That is great. Thanks for your feedback. I will check the electrical Bay on my next RV visit. Always tough when it is stored in a different location. Thanks again.

I am looking at a 2003 tradition 3 slide.
Did you ever get the issue fixed?

Good morning. Yes, I fixed the slide problem after a great deal of troubleshooting. In a different post I outline all of my troubleshooting steps near the bottom of the string (see below link). Happy to help if you still have questions after reading my conclusions.

Bedroom Slide - will not retract

Interesting! How did you get the slide in manually?

Bedroom Slide

Fleetwood (and I suspect most makes) have a 3/4" bolt on the other side of the slide motor linkage whereby you can crank the slide in or out. Simply flip the lever on the motor (under the rubber boots) up and you can crank the slide manually. If, however, you don't flip the lever back down when the slide motor is in use, it will not move.

Best wishes. Paul
