Was installing sway bar rubbers on a 1997 f53 frame, 32k on a Southwind 34' today and thought why not shocks too while I'm here.
Looking at shocks from various sources on the web, all looked yellow in color with a blue boot.. They look exactly what is on mine. Their guarantee is 50,000 miles.
Was wondering if they were original equipment or had been replaced. Any thoughts on OEM?. No real problems other wise that being blown when trucks pass etc.
I am of a mind now to just put on sway bar bushings and see how that rides to see if I need shocks. I know I could always go back and put them on, but I have for a short period a really unique place to work. Owner comes back next week and I have to give up the under carriage pit. Wish I had room, think I'd put one in at my house, anyway, kinda hate to spend 500 or so when I really don't have to.

OEM shocks were shot on our older Winnie MH, replaced all ours as well as the steering stabilizer with new HD Bilstein RV shocks from these guys:

Check them out for a full set price - might not be all that bad...

If your shocks are yellow and blue, they are bilstein. They have been added. Your coach came with ford shocks. Do not change them. Bilstein shocks last almost forever. (they loose 2% eff. in 100,000 miles) I hope you switched to polyeurthane bushings, because rubber just doesnt last.

I had a set on "The Motorhome from Hell" that we traded in on our Jamboree 26Q, I think I should have kept them they said we could remove anything we wanted from it. The only problem was it was a 1977 Brougham on a Dodge chassis. What a nightmare that one was.
