My poor husband finally got a free Saturday afternoon to work on replacing our TV in our 2003 Fleetwood Providence and plugged in a small electrical heater in the coach while he was working. One small heater was plugged into the kitchen outlet near the stove, and the second was plugged into the GFI outlet in the bathroom. The second heater blew a fuse or tripped a breaker. He checked all the fuses in the fuse panel located on the base of the bed platform in the bedroom, but all looked fine??? The lights work - but not one outlet in the whole coach works!!! He checked all the reset buttons in the GFI outlets in the bathroom, but none seemed to be tripped. He even replaced one of the GFI outlets thinking maybe that was it??? Sill no luck!!!

Is there another fuse panel we're missing somewhere? We've only had this coach for 6 months, so we're still learning about it. The motorhome was plugged into a 30 amp plug inside our pole barn, and has a hardwired surge protector onboard. Any advice or help would be appreciated. Thank you!

My inverter has breakers on the front and that could explain your systems if one popped.
I'll attach a picture so you can see the breakers.
With luck that's the deal with yours.
Two 1500 watt heaters will draw 25 amps if there on the same breaker and that could trip the breaker.

Thank you, Dick! We'll check that. He also thought of another GFI by the water intake outside that may have tripped?? We'll let you know after we check it today. We're off for a family Christmas Party today up north in Michigan. Thank you again!!

We just ran out to the barn to check for a breaker on the inverter before we leave for the party, but no luck!!! There's no breaker on our inverter - and no GFI outlet near the water intake - just a regular plug. Does anyone have any other ideas??? We hate to spend the money and call in a "pro"! Thank you!

Your inverter almost surely has a little reset button somewhere. What make and model inverter is it?

In a coach like yours, nearly all the convenience outlets will be powered though the inverter. The inverters internal breaker will usually trip befrre anything else.

You also have a 30A breaker which feeds power to the inverter and probably a separate set of breakers somewhere along the inverter's output circuit. One of those could be tripped too. Fleetwood often mounts the breakers for the inverter circuits in a separate small panel, though it sitypically quite close to the main breaker panel. Mine, which are also located under the bed, is only about 12" from the main breaker panel.

Have you checked your 110 v load center curcuit brakers may have a tripped braker.

Sometimes the breakers for the inverter are external. Look for a Square "D" box somewhere near the inverter. If you can follow the wires leaving the inverter. There should be two breakers that look like the ones in your house somewhere near the inverter.

Good Luck.

Have you checked the breaker for the 30 amp outlet in your pole barn?? even with no 110v the lights in the coach are 12 volt so they would still work from the 12v battery's. Good luck

Thank you for all of your helpful replies! Yes, we checked the breaker for the 30amp outlet in the pole barn - it's fine. I've printed off all of your suggestions and poor hubby will look more this morning before he goes to work. I'll let all of you know what we find. Thank you again!

I see you have found it and fixed it..... For the record the "Remote breaker" (really called the "Sub Panel" need not be near the inverter. On my coach the inverter is in the first compartment aft of the entrance steps, (Passanger side front) and the sub panel, with the breakers, is in a cabinet, on the driver's side, just in front of the rear axle.

The batteries are.. under the entrance step

The converter.. Driver's side, all the way to the rear. and the battery isolation relay, driver's side all the way to the FRONT.

Just so you know they can scatter things around quite a bit.

Sounds like the moniker "born to RV" may better be "Born to FIX my RV" . . .just like most of us!!

Nbonder..... You have perhaps heard the term "Fixer Upper" applied to a house for sale (I know one place where when they say that they mean bring some plank to lay across the floor before you walk in else you may find the basement......fast)

Well, I think every RV should have a "Fixer Upper Special" tag on it, Even if it's new, and just coming out of the factory!!!!

You guys with "new" rigs should be thankful! Mine('81 Executive) has ONE breaker for all 120vac outlets. Makes life very interesting. Bothe furnaces are kaput and we are heating with space heaters, nice when the nitetime low last nite was 26 deg F. Have fun, ain't this life fun!! Ed
