Hello all. Just about to build a booth dinette for my 2002 39R. First question is are there any available for sale? (London, Ontario, Canada). Next question, any advice or opinions in regards to the construction or the fact it will be installed in a slide out? I do want to put in seat belts to increase our legal seating capacity.

Hi JCBBounder, I wish you lived near NH, I have a 2004 bounder with a booth and seat belts with storage below and makes into a bed as well, that I plan to take out and I plan to put in table and two chairs. As far as your install into a slide you will have no problem, it's done all the time. Good luck with your project.

Looks like you might have what you want for a drive---but if not.

In regards to construction: Depending on your experience level this may be moot but--------

Half lap joinery will keep the frame light and very sturdy and maximize space for storage. A Kreg pocket hole tool will be of great help with the facia and other parts of the construction.
With a router and/or router table you can match your coach interior trim exactly---raise panel doors or drawers etc; Do a design drawing first (even a crude one) then build.

Sounds like a fun project either way a nice drive to pick one up or a weekend making one---good luck post a picture when you are done.

Our Dolphin did not have a drawer under the rear bench seat due to after market seat belts. We removed the double triangle iron bracing for the seatbelts, constructed the drawer and installed in a slide with no issues.

Good luck, hope Bruce C and you can get together.

We are going to change out our dinette for a table and chairs. We live in Picton, Ontario. I can send you some pics if you like. All you would have to do is cover it to suit your decor.
