Mine came with the overhead bed over the driver's compartment. Looks kinda INVOLVED as best I can see. Not sure if present cabinets both in front or sides would be compatible as there is not much leeway between. Might be cost/structure prohibitive. ?????? Best wishes for your endeavor...........

If you are planning on having anyone over 10 years old sleeping up there, forget it. They are made with a 'mattress" that is 2" or less thick and wood slats under it. Our oldest grandson, 12, will only go up there as a last resort and he his thin. His brother at 9 admits it is uncomfortable but still likes to go up there.

FWIW
My 30 something daughter has slept in that bunk quite a few times. A big piece of corrugated cardboard under the mattress takes care of the wood slat effect. A foam camping mattress pad under the mattress added just enough padding to keep her from bottoming out the stock mattress. Improving the comfort is pretty easy and inexpensive. With both things done the mattress will still retract completely.

My adult life love the loft.
We will never have a coach without one.
Air mattress and featherbed are comfy. Plus you don't have to get them out of bed in the morning.
I have napped a few times myself up there.
I'm 6'2 and 240 lbs

Hmmm, mine came with a nice adjustable air mattress.

To add the drop down bed to a rig that it did not come with looks like a large (think huge) project. All the cabinets up front are different to allow for the mounting brackets.

I actually asked Fleetwood if they could add a loft bed to a 2016 Bounder 35K and they told me it wasn’t possible because the loft requires special cabinets.

I don't know if not possible is correct. Maybe not practical is more appropriate. Very expensive IMO. The front and side cabinets are different. You are referring to a retrofit correct?

Yes it was in reference to a retrofit and they didn't want to tackle it because of the issue with different cabinets required for the loft bed to be installed. Not saying someone couldn't do it, just explaining the challenges stated by Fleetwood.
