Bounder 35K - no turn or brake lights at trailer connection

With our CR-V ready to hook up to the Bounder I thought I would test the electrical cable before connecting it to the Honda to make sure all the wiring is as it should be. But I have an issue so I hesitate to connect the cable to the car.

At the 7-pin connector on the rear of the Bounder, with the key turn on and even once with the Bounder running, I was able to read 12 volts on the trailer charge line and the clearance/tail light pin. However there is no power whatsoever on the pins for either turn signal or brake lights (yellow and green wires). The brake lights and turn signals work just fine on the Bounder but not at the 7-pin connector. I can only guess right now that there must be two blown fuses, does anyone know where these two fuses might be?

Thanks in advance,

I think you'll find those fuses under the hood in the Ford fuse box. Check your Ford manual to confirm this.

There's also a towing light converter. I actually had to have one replaced once. I don't know enough about them to assist but here's a link to some previous threads that discuss it.

Also this thread may be better served in the toad and Motorhome towing section. Let me know if you want me to move it there or we can see what happens here. It's up to you.

I found the culprit, a 20 amp fuse but not in the fuse box in the engine compartment. It was in the fuse box to the left of the steering wheel under the small removeable padded dash panel (on top of the dash next to the driver's window). All is good now.

Yeah. That's Ford fuses as well. I wasn't sure you had that secret compartment . Glad you found it. Thanks for the update.
