Bounder Classic specs are wrong

Hello, I'm looking at the specs on a 2010 bounder classic 30t. It says that it has a 22,000 chassis and a 208 inch wheelbase. Yet when I run the vin number on the ford fleet website it says it's a 18,000 with a wheel base of 190 inch. Why is it different? I see all 2011 and up models are built on a 18,000 chassis and 190 inch wheelbase. We want the 22,000 pound chassis and the 208 wheelbase. Does anybody know why there is adifference?

Thanks

Lynn

You are looking at Ford factory spec vs Motorhome spec? The motorhome maker often just extended the frame/wheel base a tad and put bigger springs or air bags on to up the weight .
PS
Lynn is my name as well.

Hi Lynn, I hear what your saying but why would the manufacture extend a 18,000 pound 190 inch wheelbase to make it a 22,000 pound 208 inch wheelbase when that can just get one from Ford all ready with those specs.

The brochures for this model year, 2010 says 22,000 pounds and 208 inch wheelbase.

So I'm not sure what to believe.

Exactly. Brochures are sometimes erroneous or changed mid-year, etc. The VIN is the final, official word.

It's not unusual for the model year of the RV body to be different than the chassis year. The chassis are ordered in bulk, then stored on the lot of the manufacturer until a chassis is needed for an order. The VIN should be the truth in what the chassis is equipped and also needed for replacement parts.
