Just want to know what, if any, modifications were made to your entrance door or shade to provide some privacy without having to fight with the roller shade produced by the Irvin Shade Company. We are in the process of replacing our forth shade and refuse to accept the fact it requires constant adjustments to work properly. At some point, Fleetwood or Irvin will grow tired of replacing my non-functional units. It is no fun fighting the shade at 4:00 am with an impatient chocolate lab attached to your other hand.

If any of you have made other accommodations, we are ready to make a change.

When I replaced mine, I went to Lowes and they just cut a standard pull down shade to my measurement and it's been working fine for two years now.

I guess my Rocky is older than your Bailey, he sleeps all the way until 5 AM. 5 am dog, 8 am wife. I too am interested in winning the fight against shade rollers that don't. Cutting one down never occured to me.

Oh yes baby! That goofy shade roller...

Has anyone yet had it roll-up, all on it's own, in the middle of the night ?!? Guess I wound it up toooo tight that time...sigh...

Has anyone tried replacing this roller-shade with something else? Just curious.
