I am upgrading from a 24 ft jayco to a 35 ft fleetwood. I am confused about the difference between a pace arrow and a bounder. I looked at a 2007 35v and I think it was a bounder, but all the identical floor plans I've seen on the net is of pace arrows. Whats up?

Hi & welcome to iRV2. Glad to have you here.
The PA was Fleetwood's top-of-the-line gas coach for many years. It's been temporarily discontinued & the Southwind is now their top gas coach. Next in the line up is the Bounder.
I don't recall a 35V model number for any recent Fleetwood coach. Are you sure of that model number?

We have the 07, 38P, Pace Arrow which is gas. Bounder has the same model. We love our model, if we had the Bounder we would love it also. We had the usual "bugs" to get worked out but I think its OK now.

Both units are good products. The pace is top of the line, but both are simular. Just a few little extras with the pace. Find the floorplan you like and you will be happy with either one.

When we purchased our unit in 2002, we looked at the many of the manufacturers and narrowed our search to the Fleetwood line because they offered a full queen bed from the factory. After comparing the Pace Arrow, Southwind, and Bounder lines of Fleetwood, I had the following observations.
In the following you will note a Goldilocks theme.
The Pace Arrow was the top of the line gas RV, for not much more you could get an entry level Diesel. These had every bell and whistle. The problem is that they were oriented towards a two people and were not family friendly (three boys). Both had rich dark woods, lots of cut class, and what I might call high class appointments.
The Southwind was a step down, still had many of the features, but less money was spent on the decorative frills. It also had a floor plan that was much more family friendly. There was a deep wardrobe with shelving and 4 large drawers for clothes, with slide out there was a dressing area in front of the wardrobe. It had a dinette rather than free standing table, that provided storage and made into a bed. It also had an 76" sofa bed for our 6 ft oldest son.
Not to forget the Bounder. I believe it had a similar floor plan, but had no where near the outside storage that the Southwind had and just seemed more cheaply made.
I'm sure we could have used any of the three, but because we given a choice, we went with the Southwind, with the light wood interior. It was just right.

I think the differences are the decorative aspects of each coach. You can't go wrong with either. we were going to get a Bounder but the one we liked was sold right before we started the numbers process, a couple of days later we found a Pace that fit our needs.

Welcom to the forum. We had a Bounder and the difference is that the Pace Arrow is just a step up from the Bounder. Maybe a little more padding here a touch of decorating something a little nicer there but you won't go wrong with either in my opinion. We enjoyed our Bounder and had many good times in it.

When I upgrade from my Bounder, I will probably go with another gasser like the Pace Arrow (perhaps a Winny Adventurer) but I haven't ruled out another Bounder though. Nearly identical, but the Pace is a touch nicer and feels more like the inside of a house and less like a camper. Because of the lack of 'frills', for the same money you could probably get a bigger Bounder.

Pace Arrow is no longer made if your looking for a new one. There's a world of different between the Bounder & Bounder Classic.

Jim,
The Bounder Classic is similar to the Terra/Storm and physically, a lot cheaper then the regular Bounder. In my opinion, Fleetwood seems to be trying to do away with the Standard Bounder.
The Bounder is very similar to the Southwind but not as fancy on the inside. While both have the same chasis and engine, the Bounder sticker price is much lower by comparison.
Like Cliff and Camping4fun, I have a Bounder 35E and love every adorable inch of it. Too bad I'm already married!
If you purchase a Bounder, we have a Fleetwood Bounder subgroup to help you with any questions you my have and to help you add those goodies you may want.

Steve
