Brought our Southwind 32VS home

Brought our new rig home a couple of days ago. We spent the night in it at the dealer and had them take care of a couple of things before leaving. Took it right to the scales actual weights are within 200lbs of the sticker. First question. Any body do anything about the way the door swings open. Our driveway has a slight incline and the door swung open with a bang and the latch hook bounced up and chipped the paint right above the retainer. Real bummer. Will do the cheap handleing fix soon. Had the dealer do an alingement and it was out. Is it recommended to do it again after loaded? So far it drives real well (only 100 miles)
Another question. Has anyone removed the extra chair and used that space for something else. On this floor plan the chair seems redundant and really in the way of using the passenger seat to its full capacity.

Congrats. Best of luck and enjoyment. You can put a gas arm on the door ( same as basements ) , which chair are you referring to ?

Congrats on the new coach! I've seen lots of pics where the owner replaced that chair with either a desk/table or TV stand. Just a thought. Anyway, enjoy the heck out of that thing!

Thanks for the congrats. Will take pics when it warms up enough to wash it. The chair is a euro chair with ottoman at the right of the entry door. The DW and I watched the Super Bowl yesterday by turning the front seats around and removing the euro chair which would have been in the way. Love the surround sound in the MH Looks like that space is going to get used for something else like shoes, broom and other things. Will keep the ottoman to use as when the drivers seat is turned around. Passenger seat has a electric foot rest that fits the DW real well.

Will do the cheap handleing fix soon.

What fix do you have in mind for your new unit?

Does the passenger chair get in the way of the third chair...some third chairs can be moved around if that is the problem...I know you would do this if it is the way....does it keep the passenger chair from turning around all of the way or ??

I have been looking at this model and it is very nice. Good luck.

Reading the ford chassis forum you will read about the CHP (cheap handleing fix) The fix moves the linkage for the front and rear sway bars from the outer hole to the inner hole and stiffens the bar to help with cornering and sharp turns. The word is that Ford says it's Ok to do.
The chair is movable but still takes up a lot of room when moved. Might be good for company but for the two of us I don't think it is needed. When watching the front TV it would come in handy. Not sure when we would use the front over the mid mounted one. The front is a high end Sony with more bells and whistles than the Samsung and the rear TV. The front can be used with Internet, not sure yet on the mid one.

2011 32vs

We bought a 2011 32VS last year barely used. Only had it out 4 times so far. Retirement around the short corner. Ours also has the mid-tv. Discovered when using Direct TV the front TV has to be turned on in order to get audio from the big one in the middle. There is a switch box in the front entertainment area that allows switching inputs from one tv to the other. Was this a factory install. Love the coach.

Congratulations on your new MH. We have a Winnebago, and one of the first things we did is remove the chair. Went out and bought a storage style foot stool to put in front of the turned a round passenger seat. It holds our DVD,CD"s and books while traveling and makes the area so much more roomy.
