Where would be the best place to search for a 34 ft+ Bounder in the $35,000 range? Any help would be appreciated.

Herb

Google is the answer! You may also try our classified section to see if there's anything there.

We found ours here:

RV items - Get great deals on RV Sales, Pop Up Camper items on eBay Motors!

It was a little nerve racking, but we found it with only 17K miles on it and it just happened to be close by. We did say we would never do THAT again....found the Jeep (two years old and with only 4K miles on it) and bought it on e-bay as well. This all happened in January of '10 and we are very happy with both. Good luck and do have FUN with your search. Bob

Hi Jan and Bob,

I have been watching Ebay forsometime and there do seem to be some good buys there. I know I have to be careful thogh. Before I can do any bidding on Ebay I have to sell the 5-er first. I now have that on consignment as I have had noluck trying to sell it myself. I just have to bide my time. Thank you for your reply.

I just spent 3 weeks at Lazydays in Tampa/ Seffner Fl. and they have lots of used Bounders and Fiestas for sale and they take anything in trade. I saw a few boats that they traded. They'll make you think that they are giving you more than you paid for you're fiver, but it all comes out in the wash.
Just a thought if you are near them

SO true. If you want a deep discount on the sale, you'll take a deep hit on the trade. On the flip side, if you want top dollar for your trade, you'll pay close to list on the sale. I've yet to get a dealer to bite on top dollar for trade with deep discount on sale. For some reason, they don't see that as an advantage (to them anyway).

RVT.com is another good source. You can do an advanced search where it will give you options as to length, brand, fuel type, etc. I've found that you will be money ahead if you sell your unit outright and buy the replacement after that, but it may or may not be worth the money if you don't want to mess with selling yours. The dealers will almost always give you "trade in" value for yours off their list, or almost list price, regardless of how they present the numbers. Hopefully if you go through a dealer you will be able to find one that will accept a smaller profit margin. Goof luck on your search.

Thanks to you all,
I have talked to Lazy Daze and I really do not see any deals there. I have my 5er on consignment in NC and if they get the price they say they can get(HA!) I will be better off. I have even found someone who may be willing to trade his A for my 5. I am trying to show patience in all this but it is hard. I am such a novice.

you have to make offers to Lazy Days. I made low ball offers on 6 units they accepted 5, we drove down and made final choice. I was paying cash with no trade in, but they came down 27%.

Hey Herbc,

I've had good luck on buying and selling on Craig's List.
Make sure the RV can be viewed in your area, has a phone # in your area and watch out for fraud. They will tell you they will ship and ask for freight charges upfront or ask to send purchase price ur down payment to hold. Believe what you see and always see registration and, if possible, a pinkslip in the owner's name plus his driver's license.
What ever happend to truth, honor and the American way

Steve

Thanks, Papabull,

I will be going down in June and will plan on dropping by and trying them out. Hopefully my 5er willl have sold by then so I can make a cash offer.
