Buying a Fleetwood DP
Looking for information regarding the quality of Fleetwood units. Would you buy another motorhome from Fleetwood. What are some of the known problems with Fleetwood units. Is a Winnie, Newmar, Tiffin..etc, more bang for the buck? Are you happy with your Fleetwood? Please speak your mind and help me decide what I should do.... Thanks

We're very happy with our 2012 Fleetwood Discovery 36J, and with Fleetwood service. We had some issues with the coach, and Fleetwood and the dealer stepped up and made it right. Excellent customer service. In our estimation, the bang for the buck is there. We looked at all the coaches from the manufacturers you mentioned, and after comparing quality and content, the decision was an easy one.

Good luck with your decision, and have fun!

Fleetwood/American Coach seem to have really uped their game in the last few years. Unfortunately, the entire RV manufacturing community seems to have quality control issues and a visit to any of our owner forums here will confirm that. Some get "lucky", others will hit the other side of the scale. In our case, we had a long list of warranty issues immediately after taking delivery but the service department was great, working hard to get things made right. Even now they are advocating for me in getting a problem with Aquahot ironed out.

Your question needs more information. Are you looking at new or used? Fleetwood makes units in many price ranges and obviously those that are more expensive will have more features or be built differently.

We have a 2008 fleetwood diesel bounder 38F. We really love the floor plan. The bath and half is the only way to go. Anytime I need parts for my unit I call parts and they have the right parts or if not in stock they can get them from their suppliers. They are the best people to deal with. I will be looking for a discovery 40e for my next unit .

We bought our's used (we're the 4th owner). We would buy it all over again going back in time. We had normal issues with Norcold recall's, washer/dryer repair, hot water heater element replaced etc, but these were really not Fleetwood problems. Of course our Fleetwood was built before American Coach came about, but we would not hesitate to purchase a new Fleetwood based on the experience we've had. BTW, Fleetwood still gives us great support for our 02".

I have owned, 3 Fleetwood MH's, 1 Class C, a gas Class A, and now the '99 Discovery. Everyone, had it's little problems, but everything that went wrong, was appliances not built by Fleetwood. My Discovery's odometer, rolled 101,000 mi. I couldn't be happier with my Fleetwood. My opinion is the chassis and engine are more important to me.

Now that I think about it I very seldom see a lot of complaints or issues with Fleetwood products although I am sure they get their fair share.
My dad has a 92 diesel Bounder and has had no issues. I have a 97 and have run into an issue with levelers but that is probably due mostly to age.
I personally think the Bounder is a great bang for your buck!

Are you asking about fleetwood in general or a DP in which is a chassis question, either way I'm happy. As other post say they all have some problems remember they are made by humans.

We're on our fourth DP American Coach (Fleetwood). And yes we would buy another.
