can't stop fresh water tank filling

2004 Pace Arrow. When I am hooked to "city" water it will leak into and fill my freshwater tank. I do have a bypass valve that could be leaking but I think that is unlikely. Does anyone know if there is a check valve in the system that could be leaking or any other information? Thanks in advance for any help.

Our last fifth wheel developed a slow leak in the 12v pump's check valve last year. While we were hooked to the CG water, the fresh tank filled to overflowing. I was all ready to replace the pump and had an idea... Since the fresh tank had water in it, I turned on the pump. With the city water off and water flowing through the pump, whatever was lodged in the pump's check valve was washed out. Never had that problem again.

Had a similar problem with my '05 Pace Arrow. The bypass/fill valve was 'overshooting' the stop or off position. Inching it very slightly toward the fill side caused the problem to go away and left me to conclude the valve was faulty. Replaced the valve (easy to do) and issue resolved. You may want to try the same test with yours to see if the problem might be in the valve.

Every day is an adventure!

Thanks kgarvey will check it out, how did you ever come up with this, I never would have. How did you handle the plastic piping when you replaced the valve?
