Changing my 275 tires to 295 tires?

Hello Peeps!
Long time no talk, it has been a busy summer and fall is back, time to get the coach into some more upgrades and improvements.
My question is, It is time to change the rear tires on our 40X before our Thanksgiving trip to the Gulf so, can I change my rear duals from 275's to 295's? I think the rule is they cannot touch and as long as that is the case I should be good but, I really want to know what you guys think.
Thank You in advance!
Craig

You need to know your current rim width and offset , and the required rim width and offset of any tires you consider.

Added height can be a factor for clearance , speedo accuracy, engine power band , trans shifting , and since you mentioned rears and not ALL tires , anti-lock brake operation.

Just curious, why would you want to change what was designed by the OEM? They will mostly likely be more expensive too. And only the rear tires? Imo, I would not do it.

My '07 40X has very close to zero clearance from the tire to the wheel well when air bags are dumped.

Having different sized tires front and back could be a hassle if you ever want to swap them. Lots of people buy new steer tires, and move the front ones to the back. Others may use a rear as a spare on the front in an emergency. If you carry a spare, which size will it be. This may not apply to you, but having options is always good. I try to never vary to much from an engineered product. You might be affecting something that you are not considering. If it isnt broke, dont fix it.

I have a 1999 American Eagle, did just what OP is asking.... absolutely no wheel well clearance issues, duals not even close to touching. .... there's no issue with the size, but be sure you have the proper load range. H in my case, standard truck tires found on thousands of on highway trucks.

Tire -oem 275/80R22.5 G670RV
Load range H
Current- 295/75R22.5 G399

And they were less $$$ then the RV "specific" tire
