Tell us what make and model coach you have. Is there anything else that doesn't work with the genset?

Does the system charge the batteries when plugged in to shore power?

The shore power path and the path from the Generator, to charge your batteries, is exactly the same path.

Are you saying that the batteries do not charge (from the engine alternator) while you are driving or that when you start your generator the batteries do not charge?

The Genset should do everything shore power does,,, HOWEVER on some rigs (mine for example) the genset has two output breakers.. If one of them is tripped then one of my battery banks will not be charged by the generator.

Some background.. My "House" is a 50 amp house. the generator has two 30 amp breakers on it.. I have added a second house battery system (Different devices) and one converter is on each leg.

Many 30 amp houses (Those with 2 Air Conditioners and possible those with just one) also have 2 breakers on the genset.. One (the smaller one) just runs one air conditioner, nothing else. And that one may be in line even if on shore power
