American Coach: Charging batteries

I have a 2014 American Eagle. My question is when the coach is plugged in am I charging just the house batteries or the house and chassis batteries?

You will be charging both house and starting batteries. Remember to check water levels in batteries monthly. A Pro Fill system makes it easy.

I think his Eagle has AGM batteries for the house and sealed (maintenance free) chassis batteries, so no water to check. I know my '04 came that way, and I doubt if the '14 has regressed any.

A cheap voltmeter, the kind Harbor Freight sells for a few bucks, is an invaluable tool.
After you're parked and sitting, measure the voltage across the battery terminals. If the voltage is over 13.0-13.2 Volts, it's being charged. Resting voltage on a traditional lead-acid battery is in the high twelves if the battery is fully charged, and around 12.0 V if mostly discharged.

My 2012 Eagle charges and maintains both coach and chassis batteries when on shore power. We had an issue early on with dead chassis batteries, blown 300amp fuse was the problem. Congrats on your new coach, many happy miles.
