Bounder: Charging problem

Have 1997 Bounder 35U Coach batteries do not charge with engine running. I figure it is a relay someplace. From looking on here it looks like I am right. But where is it at?

Open the front HOOD and locate the black box on the firewall directly in front of the drivers position. The relay you are looking for is located in that box, behind the circuit board. The circuits and relays in that box are your BCC (Battery Control Center).

There are three solenoid/relays in the box. The one you are interested in is the round one. It is also used to connect the batteries when you press (and hold) the Aux Start Button.

My 97 Bounder 32H we just bought keeps loosing fire to the ignition. We can wiggle the 3 red wires that connect to the board in that box under the hood and we get the power back. We sprayed the contacts with cleaner but they are spade type connections that may need squeezed to tighten a little.

Has anyone been hit with this gremlin before?

Check for loose connections on the other end of those Red wires. They attach to the relays/solenoids behind the circuit board.

After tightening the spade connections on the board it failed once again. I did nothing else due to the rainy weather. The next day it started right up. When the rain stops I am going to check those connections at the other end as you suggested Old Bounder.

Received the new solonoid last week and got it installed today everything works good and batteries charge just fine now.

Another question. The solonoid does not disconnect, the electric feed to it does not stop when engine, generator and shore line are disconnected. Should it not disconnect?
