Charging toad battery
Apologies in advance if this question was answered before. We searched many posts without any luck.
We are first timer outfitting a 2007 Fleetwood Bounder to tow our 2014 MKX and want to charge toad while traveling. We need to identify the Bounder 12V supply on the MH hitch pigtail pin. Does anyone know where a diagram might be located or which pin to tap for sure without pulling out the multimeter?
It would sure make the confidence meter hit a high mark on our first pull.

best and quickest and surest is to take a test light and see which one in the 7 pole is live when everythings off or key on everything else off
run a 12 gauge wire to battery with a 20 amp circuit breaker
what I did and works great

If your Bounder has a Freightliner Chassis, check pin #4 for 12 volts when the KEY in the motorhome is turned ON. This is a fuse and relay protected 12 volt source I used.

Here is the six pin side that is probably on the car. Note that Pete's picture is looking at the back side of the plug where the wires actually attach.
In my picture you are looking at the front of the plug

"Standard" is for pin #4 (on a 7 pin receptacle) to carry the power, but on my rig I wired the hot to the center pin. Works fine but considering changing it so I don't confuse someone working on the rig.

Well I looked up the plug wiring before checking to see if you got a response . Looks like you are covered, but here it is anyway.

I assume the reason that people want to charge the battery is they are using the TOAD wiring for turn/stop light/parking lights --- etc
I went the direction of a separate bulb system inside the regular tail light fixtures and having towed for tow years now, have never seen a reason to have a separate charge line.
My braking system is also air operated -- so almost no electrical power required.
thx Dale

Nope, on Hondas some systems are energized since you have to leave the ignition key in the ABC position to unlock the steering. I also have an air activated braking system and the battery still went dead on both the '05 Odyssey and now the '14 CR-V.

Thank you all. This diagram along with the other responses is just what we needed. Sorry if this was answered before, but you hit the nail with the diagram.
Picture worth a thousand euros etc.
Dropping the MKX off tomorrow for Roadmaster tow plate, class 3 hitch and brake install. Having it done at Camping World Lakewood NJ. Bought the diode. Let all know how we make out.
Many thanks.
