Chassis Batteries '06 Fleetwood Discovery

Folks,

I need to replace my 2 chassis batteries in my 2006 Fleetwood Discovery. I usually stick with Interstate batteries.

Does anyone happen to know the specifics on what battery type/size/model?

It would save me some time instead of pulling a battery and bringing it to the shop.

Thanks in advance for everyone's assistance.

Regards,

Mike

The BCI case size and CCA rating is usually on the side or top of the battery. That's all the info you need to buy any brand. According to Freightliner chassis specs, the Discovery was originally equipped with 760 CCA Denso batteries. Any starting battery with a 760 CCA or larger rating will work fine. Freightliners typically come with BCI Group 31 size batteries, but the 760 CCA size could be the smaller Group 27 as well.

Interstate offers a Group 27 with 800 CCA and a Group 31's with ratings of 700, 950 or 1000 CCA

Here is a link to Batteries Plus. They have a good discount for ordering on line and store pickup, also a military discount. Original batteries are 950 CCA, one of these batteries shown has a 1000CCA.

Just check the battery terminal locations to make sure you get the correct one.
(Battery Plus indicated they will install, but check with the store first to make sure)

You have to pull them and take them to the shop anyway right? I mean for the core charge?
NAPA has group 31 batteries for $80.

Freightliner has good prices on their private label batteries as well. Alliance is the brand they sell. Also check Costco or Sam's Club if you are a member.

Lead acid batteries are a commodity and they [almost] all come from the same Big 4 US battery manufacturers and just get different labels on the side. You can buy what ever brand has the specs you need at a good price.
