Are you running the system on "High Cool" or "Auto Cool"?

On "High Cool" the units should act just as you described, but on "Auto Cool", the following should apply. This is from the Intellitec ECC manual, and the way mine works.

AUTO COOL - Both the air conditioner compressor and high fan are on when the ambient temperature goes 5 degrees above the set point temperature. When the ambient temperature drops to within 3 degrees of the set point, the fan switches to low speed. When the temperature drops to set point the compressor turns off. When the ambient temperature drops 2 degrees below the set point, the fan turns off. As the ambient temperature rises, the reverse procedure happens. Load shedding is active.

The above question and answer was a thread from over two years ago. It never seemed to get a suggested fix. I agree that the manual is quoted correctly, however, mine and others that I have spoken to seem to not be as sensitive to the ambient temperature. The fan just doesn't seem to want to stop unless the temp drops well below the 2 degree level. This is on auto cool and holds true on both ac's. If anyone has a work around for this. please post. I am presently in the process of having my ECC thermostat and control repaired which is another issue.

We can not get our air to work properly on the auto settings for either AC. Since I can find no replacements for the Intelletec thermostat controls, we just gave up and run the AC on either high or low setting and at some point turn the switch to off. Chuck

I had the same beef with the intellitec system. How is the temp going to get 2 degrees below set point when that is where the compressors turn off? Also, the moisture which is on the cold coils goes back into the coach. This is how I solved it.

So....Did you put the stand alone thermostat in series with the 12v supply? I would sure like a rough schematic of your work around.
If M&M RV Electronics can't repair my obsolete thermostat and control module I will have to come up with something else anyway.

Thank in advance.

The least expensive electronic Tstat I could find at HomeDepot. It's a Honeywell and it is powered by AAA batteries.
