Coolant filter location 99 Eagle
I read in my service manual that I need to change the coolant filter at each oil service on my 1999 American Eagle but I can not locate the filter, can anyone help?

Open the rear engine compartment doors, look above the alternator on the driver's side of the engine. There is a valve that turns of the coolant to the filter, but some of them get frozen in place..

Here it is - L/side in plain view- My off valve is frozen so I don't use it- I just remove the filter and install new- just leaks a little coolant.

The radiator hose on mine is configured different. It runs in front of the filter and you cannot see it. That is the correct location.

More than likely, the OP coolant conditioner/filter is under coach, drivers side, right next to oil filter.
There's a valve above it, but leave radiator cap on and it'll just be a slow stream till you get the new one on...
Fleetguard #WF2071 is part number

Mackwrench,
You mean even if I do not close the valve, the stream is manageable as long as the radiator cap is on? I've read that those valves are notorious for being difficult to close and reopen.

Yes, that is correct.
My coolant filter is not by the oil filter, but above the alternator on the drivers side of the engine???
I have a a Cummins 6CTA, Ref # 53-34874-004 engine # 45358278, model C8.3-325
I found this YouTube video (poor) on the coolant filter and it shows the filter where mackwrench describes it.

filter replacement
Hello
I have a 1999 american eagle and the filter is right next to the oil filter. There is a little valve above that little filter that you have to turn off. If you don't be ready for a antifreeze bath as you'll lose a lot of fluid before you can screw a new one on. John
