I'm hoping Fleetwood will take care of this or at least help out. I'm away from home now and DW is not looking forward to loosing the coach for a long period of time while it sits in a shop.

Our outings are short planed and come at a moments notice, so our coach is basically in constant use. Almost like full timing, its never in a state of storage.

Thank you all again for your responses, I'm gaining info and i see i'm not the only one who has had this issue.

No they did not and I was not quick enough to ask. I will see if I can get an answer.

Heavy,
Could you give me the point of contact you used to get your issue addressed?
I'm trying to get ahead of this now from long distance.
Thanks

I spoke to Rick Black at the factory service center. 260-728-4773. He was quite helpful.

I'm scheduled to be there November 9th, on the way south. If you end up there then let me know.

Thanks for that info, I'll have to see how I can schedule this.
I'll be back at work again by that time, so DW will have to pick up the load on that visit.

Looks good, smlranger! Since you didn't tear the wall apart and reinforce the wall section, any signs of movement around the screws holding the louver over the crack?

Not that I can tell. Before sticking the eternabond tape over the crack, I put a few pop rivets thru the skin into the metal behind it. That drew the sidewall tight to the metal. In talking with Country Coach, they did say they had some flexing in their longer coaches that caused the cracking only at the rear slides. I figure something behind the skin was flexing so that figured into my decision not to pay big bucks to just have it re-glassed and painted.

The screws were set into pro flex clear urethane caulk and have showed no signs of loosening or movement.

The louver is made by Perko marine products. I can't remember where I got them but it was some online marine products seller. I needed to cover about 11" of vertical height so I used two of the longer louvers and they covered the space perfectly.

Had same problem with our 02 Discovery. Turned out it needed to be repaired twice, factory botched first repair but redid repair on their dime the 2nd time.
There is a frame around the slide out opening that had not been properly welded when the side panel was manufactured and it needed to be properly welded to stop the cracking.
Would highly recommend taking it back to Fleetwood for the repair.
Their repair facility is excellent in Indiana.
